Niall Browne Movies in Focus The acting hits the mark and there’s plenty of gunplay to keep action fans entertained. It’s a shame that Boon’s limited budget means there’s little scope to open things up and deliver big visuals or big action. Rated: 2.5/5 May 29, 2023 Full Review Jake Cole Spectrum Culture Stale and formulaic, this ex-hitman story is too inert to be called a thriller. Apr 5, 2022 Full Review Dennis Schwartz Dennis Schwartz Movie Reviews Leaves us with an annoying religious redemption message, some bad acting and a contrived plot. Rated: C Apr 3, 2022 Full Review Jackie K. Cooper jackiekcooper.com Neal McDonough is still a compelling actor but this one was a tough slog. Rated: 4/10 Apr 3, 2022 Full Review Jeffrey Lyles Lyles' Movie Files Boon is such a slow burn action drama that its snuffed out before it gets interesting. Rated: 4/10 Apr 1, 2022 Full Review Brian Orndorf Blu-ray.com When the budget is this low and the star power this minimal, it's best to go crazy with action, which this picture tries to avoid until the final act. Raymond R The "acting" - if you even call it that - was so awful and unbelievable that it felt like I was watching viewers re-enacting scenes from a movie they had just watched. The story was bland and generic. Guy who killed for a living goes to live in a remote spot, find a damsel in distress, saves her. It's literally that generic. There were zero twists or anything unique. In fact, we barely got any backstory on the main character. Then you have the generic, overly done bad guy is about to force himself on a woman until the random guy next door saves her. Wow, never would've saw that coming! The only good thing about this movie was Neal McDonough. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 10/29/24 Full Review Robert D Stupidest movie I've ever even tried to watch. Acting is the worst. I remember B movies and this is a million times worse than a B movie. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 09/24/24 Full Review Susan M I thought the movie was great and satisfying. Neil McDonough was great as Boon and I want to know more about the character. All the actors were believable. Actually had a good story line, unlike the constant CGI violence in most contemporary movies. I hope there's a sequel, because the ending certainly could set that up. I'd recommend it. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 09/18/24 Full Review Guillermo Miguel P This is a B movie. It kept me entertained and it was fun. Typical formula but still if you want to just wind down and not think too much. This was fun. I rated it as a B movie not against big budget movie. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 09/02/24 Full Review Jelisije J Look I like low budget movies that are made for tv because usually you will find some hidden gems.....this film ending screams out of budget and somebody missed that last day of writing the finale. If you want a conclusion to a story then dont watch this film. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 04/11/24 Full Review Tyler R Difficult to watch acting from most of the cast. The only enjoyable performance was that of Tommy Flanagan. James Madio also stood out, but I can't really tell if it was because of a good performance or because everyone around him stunk so bad. The story crawls forward at an incredibly slow pace, and it isn't very original or intriguing. I was looking forward to seeing Neal McDonough, but his character was quite boring, barely spoke (but not in an intriguing way, more like the writers couldn't come up with anything for him to say) and we aren't given much of a reason to care about him. All around a real waste of time. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/17/24 Full Review Read all reviews
