Audience Member Decent watch, probably won't watch again, but can recommend. Since it's basically a child prison camp outside the per view of the United States, there are lots of angles to this one. There are coming of age stories, there is the prisoner aspect of it: guilt, guards vs prisoners, prisoners vs prisoners, and just general psychology of traumatized people. I know that makes it sound REAL interesting /s, but if you like movies you can think out, especially for the characters, then this is a real good watch. For everyone else, it's still good, but it's a unique prison movie, so it comes with all that entails: abusive guards, warden with a god complex, and infighting like cuttlefish. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Pretty dumb. Several observations. Why these kids end up in Fiji and not in the states where there's plenty of these camps is beyond me. Also, strapping kids by the ankle to a cement block as the sea comes in is stupid, highly illegal and dangerous, as is beating them with sticks, punching them in the face, putting them in solitary confinement, and let's not forget the rapes. Pretty harsh punishment for kids whose only crime is hating parents who are religious zealots or corrupt politicians. The testimonies of the first kids that came back from this camp would have the entire staff in prison for life. About as realistic as tits on a bull. To me it seems more like the parents should be in the camp not the kids. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review laurie s all it does is illustrate the extent of how many crap parents there are in the US. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member 68/100. It is an original concept, and I did like that about the film. The acting was fine, as was the photography. The film claims it was based on true events, but it seemed a little extreme to me, I was not fully convinced. It has a very good pace. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review don s A terribly written suspense story about teens legally kidnapped, with parental consent, and taken to a boot camp in Fiji to "straighten them out." Supposedly based on a true story, however even reality is not a stupid and unbelievable as this movie. Even the lovely Mila Kunis couldn't help this crap. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Seems a little out there and unbelievable and yet apparently there are many of these programs operating in America. Watchable, but forgettable Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
