Bilge Ebiri New York Magazine/Vulture It’s like a dimestore Braveheart: It might not have the sweep of those old-school period action films, but it’s still thrilling and passionate and filled with bloodcurdling, wall-to-wall violence. Dec 9, 2023 Full Review Leslie Felperin Guardian Kurylenko is about as gritty as a used sponge, and has a thin, feeble voice that’s especially unconvincing in scenes where she’s meant to rally troops with impassioned rhetoric. Rated: 2/5 Oct 24, 2023 Full Review Tom Cassidy Common Sense Media Unfortunately, Boudica: Queen of War's gloomy tone and long, TV quality battles make it an underwhelming viewing experience. Rated: 2/5 Nov 22, 2023 Full Review Noah Berlatsky Everything is Horrible (Substack) Even the theoretically revolutionary themes of women’s empowerment are carefully damped down Nov 19, 2023 Full Review Emilie Black Cinema Crazed The film is clearly made more for action fans than history buffs, but it works well this way. Rated: 4/5 Nov 2, 2023 Full Review Julian Roman MovieWeb Olga Kurylenko unleashes beast mode as a British warrior seeking bloody vengeance against ruthless Roman oppressors. Boudica: Queen of War falls short on exposition and character development but delivers a quasi-historical actioner with gruesome glee. Rated: 2/5 Nov 1, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews

Kaz T Absolute waste of time. I'd love to see Michael Hirst write a version of Boudica but whoever wrote this, nope. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 09/22/24 Full Review Michael A What on earth is Olga Kurylenko doing in this mostly horribly written and terribly directed movie? The subject matter is very important and deserves an excellent film version. Seems that Kurylenko seems to even be aware that she's working within a train wreck since her acting is not anywhere near most of her otherwise very fine work. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 08/06/24 Full Review Par K Absolutely awful and cringy. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 05/16/24 Full Review The Squad the laziest script. worst direction. worst cinematography and production design. the sword?? i picked that up at a dollar general store. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/24 Full Review Sam C A real rotten tomato. One of the best stories of all time, that could've rivaled Gladiator for epic greatness, spoiled by poor cinematography, poor reenactment, a disregard for cinematic scale (tiny skirmishes with the same 20-or-so people), a disregard for continuity (the changing sword) and, as if all this wasn't enough, a disregard for history. The daughters die at the beginning?? What were you thinking? Also - how many British actors were passed over for Kurylenko to get the gig? A real rotten tomato Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/24/24 Full Review Anthony G Poor quality b-movie effort. Blood at every moment but none if overly shocking, Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/30/24 Full Review Read all reviews
