Sarah Manvel Critic's Notebook In every way Mr. Russell’s movie, and he handles it all with ease. It’s a pleasure to see someone understand their character down into their bones. May 26, 2025 Full Review Alan French Sunshine State Cineplex Broke is not a new classic in the Western, but it certainly proves that Russell can elevate a project by himself. Rated: 6/10 May 16, 2025 Full Review Sean Chandler Sean Chandler Talks About Broke feels like a blend of To Build a Fire and a sad country song. Wyatt Russell shines as a rodeo rider stranded in a blizzard, reflecting on lost love, pain, and purpose. A quiet, emotional western drama worth checking out for genre fans. Rated: B May 15, 2025 Full Review JK Sooja Common Sense Media Solid performances from Wyatt Russell and Dennis Quaid can't keep this rodeo drama on its horse. May 14, 2025 Full Review Mark Keizer MovieWeb Broke gets by on its recognizable themes and Russell’s performance, which papers over the fact that little here is particularly new and not all of it works. Rated: 2.5/5 May 9, 2025 Full Review Luna Guthrie Collider Eubank's direction has a tenderness for its characters and for the little worlds they build around themselves, bursting full of hopes and dreams that we really want to see them achieve. Bernard D My wife and I really enjoyed this movie. The cast is superb. Russell is really good, Quaid is always great and so nice to see Tom Skerritt back on the screen. If you like rodeo movies, this is for you. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 06/02/25 Full Review Vernon Seth B I'm actually the overweight trucker he says hi to when he goes to the shower and I got to chat with him a little. I Ed at the time actually a truck driver and they asked me to be in the scene. It was nice to chat with him and he's a brilliant actor who's also a down to earth person. As for the film it's self. I'm fifth generation Montanan and I feel the film accurately represents the culture and some of the sadly common issues in our communities. Wonderful piece of drama with stunning visuals. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/02/25 Full Review Orville T Great movie! Its nice to see good movies are still being made! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/01/25 Full Review Robert S Absolutely wonderful movie. Characters are well defined. I recommend this to anyone. This should’ve won an award. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/31/25 Full Review Lauren M A fresh take on the rodeo culture and ranching lifestyle. An incredible watch! The best movie I have seen in years. Wyatt Russels strongest role yet in my opinion. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/29/25 Full Review Chelsea H A modern western holding true to the gruff and callused life of a bareback rider. Think "Concussion" meets "Yellowstone." The film was shot as a true artistic expression and the casting decisions felt like the parts were written for those actors. Quaid and Russell are a match for the silver screen.
