Bill T. @btreakle 3h “Broke”This movie starring Wyatt Russell and Dennis Quade an excellent rodeo cowboy movie.It portrays the life of a rodeo cowboy you know the ups and downs and broken bones and sleepless nights. This story depicts 1 certain rodeo cowboy and his struggles was not having a plan for his future rather than getting back on a horse after he was thrown off a horse and seriously hurt. This film highlights what the life of a rodeo cowboy is like and along with all the issues that come up in his personal life as well as the professional life and all the hardships that follow . This film is suitable for all ages and I think although it started out very slow towards the middle and last part of the film you really get the sense of what it's like to be a cowboy in the rodeo and all that that entails. I enjoyed the sparse dialogue, the scenery, well-done horse riding and the cameos by Tom Skerritt and Charley Crockett. Wyatt Russel turns in his best performance by quite a large margin and the supporting cast doesn’t miss a beat in this one. A strong script, brilliantly scarce in dialogue, is supported by vulnerable but authentically grounded performances by all involved. The cinematography, aided by the breathtaking Montana backdrop, leaves you feeling both a cautious appreciation for its dangers and a yearning to explore its beautiful landscape. See more Branch B Nov 23 Broke was a beautiful movie, with a realism that most writers and directors don’t have the guts to make. Russell is outstanding in this. I love how his addiction was a problem, but not his only problem. Too often we just see a big spiral to rock bottom, when in reality it’s a slow slide. This movie captures that slide. All the performances were great. It should win awards. See more Wade A Oct 28 Editing and cinematography are great. Story is good but not perfect. However, what it lacks in that department it makes up for it with heart. This movie has TONS of heart. As an under the radar indie, I have to give this one a lot of credit. It has soul, heart and humanity that I don’t see it too many movies anymore. Also showing a more rural setting with dignity and a kind of beauty in its struggles was very moving.
