Audience Member I found this film in a twenty pack of horror films where it was titled Shaded Places instead of its current listing. Anyway, I didn't know what to expect when I watched it since my only knowledge was that it featured Christina Applegate and Molly Ringwald and I got a very pleasant surprise even though it clearly wasn't a horror film, but rather a strange drama. I found the story to be rather compelling as it unfolded, even though it could get crazy at times with a character suicide, characters coming to grips with their pasts, trying to figure out why said character committed suicide, a subplot about stealing a pet to get reward money to buy pot, characters learning to do things like ride a bike or play golf, and many other things. This film is very uneven, but it was never boring, and I found it to be a very compelling mess of a film. It's one of the strangest films I've ever seen, but it was a great gem that is waiting to be discovered. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member Probably one of my least favourite movies staring Molly Ringwald. The story of how a group of friends cope after the suicide of another friend. Just a cheaply made 90's movie which probably went straight to video. (The dvd copy I have is in 2.0 and looks and sounds like a VHS tape, which doesn't help). I like Molly Ringwald and Christina Applegate , but I think I'd rather watch just about anything else starring either. Honestly they are not in it all that much either (Christina being the dead friend, and Molly one of the friends, who spends her scenes snarling and smoking, clearly trying to break some stereotypes, but she's done it far better in other movies). I guess it reminds me of the 10 for $7 bags of VHS crap I used to bring home weekly in the 90's. That's probably the best i can say about it. Very much part of that era!
