Reverse the Curse follows Ted (Logan Marshall-Green), a failed writer-turned-Yankees Stadium peanut slinger who moves back home after learning of the failing health of his Red Sox-obsessed father, Marty (David Duchovny). While Marty strives to make amends for his past, his health drops abruptly whenever his beloved Sox lose a game. To keep his dad's spirits up, Ted takes matters into his own hands and manufactures a winning streak with the help of a crew of dad's neighborhood pals. In the process, Ted strikes up a bond with Marty's charming "Death Specialist," Marianna (Stephanie Beatriz), and the prospect of a new love reignites his ambitions. An ode to the bond between father and son, this warm and witty film demonstrates how life truly belongs to the losers, and that the longshots are the ones worth betting on.

Duchovny the director never bothers to ground his melodrama in something that feels real, missing the target on the period in which it’s set and an honest understanding of the people who live and die on the success and failure of their favorite teams.

Reverse the Curse awkwardly fumbles its attempts to balance sarcasm and sappiness. This comedy/drama has too much phony-sounding and lackluster dialogue in portraying a volatile father-son relationship affected by the 1978 World Series.

A great sports movie, in the way of Rudy, Brian's Song, The Pride of the Yankees- sports is drama, and this movie delivered drama and humor and was entirely enjoyable. Sports was the center of the movie but the human element was the part that drove it from start to finish. A shout out to anyone from Massachusetts if you don't watch it then you are just stupid. Thank you David.

Journey of love, laughter, pain and honesty. Movie reminds us that family may hurt us but we always have to have their backs when they need us the most and to be brave in order to avoid such life mistakes from repeating themselves but can we truly stop the same mistakes the ones before us have made?

Waste of time and money, the son looks as old as the Dad, would’ve been more interesting if they were lovers but I doubt the actors in those roles could pull it off. The accent and the wig on the son were ridiculous and I say this as someone who wants more baseball films. Thumbs down.
