Jay Weissberg Variety Some period films come across as homages to classics of the past, while others play perilously on the edge of imitation. "Budapest Noir" definitely falls in the latter category... Jun 22, 2018 Full Review Read all reviews

Webb V Budapest Noir is as noire'esque as any of the genres stories. It's main points of interest are a grizzled reporter, a smattering of Fem Fatales, a story in need of telling, and its era. The silent scream echoing throughout is the harbinger of war that, like the wolf, will soon be at the door. Give it a miss if tou don't like subtitles. Have a finger on the pause button if you do. You won't need it often but you won't want to interrupt the flow of ths story anymore than nesseccary. Its cadence is near perfect. Will keep a link open to this one. It's got good legs.
