Randy Quaid ("Parents", "Freaked"), Katherine Heigl ("Bride of Chucky"), and Dennis Fimple ("House of 1000 Corpses", "Fangs") star in this horror-comedy about aquatic bugs taking over a small lakeside hicktown. Filmed in a manner as if it were made-for-TV, yet overly creepy in parts. Not funny, not scary, just weird and gross. While in some respects it harkens back to the mid-'50s "Attack of the Giant..." movies, the tone and style detract from the overall enjoyment. Plus one of the Mighty Ducks, although he pretty much just acts like his Mighty Ducks character. It's as cheesy as you would think. But the commercials were entertaining.
