1 of the questions the film throws up&doesn't answer is if the binary between being a devi or chudail is the only recourse feminine power has to navigate in this patriarchal set up. No easy answers in sight but nevertheless a visually appealing film.

Visually strong with a really good central performance. There is a ton of effort and screen time put into the central mystery of who is the 'demon-woman' that is killing everybody? Unfortunately, its the most obvious and in your face answer that's that is so overtly hinted at I almost expected it to be a fakeout, but no, it's Bulbbul. Could of used more from the killing and scary scenes, but I think they went conservative on those cause their is a very rough extended sexual assault scene to get through in this.

Phenomenal cinematography, set design and the story unfolds so beautifully. Based on the fable of she-demons in many south Asian cultures, this story lets you know that the real horror is not some ghost hiding in the woods, but the brutality that women suffer as the second sex. Highly recommend!
