There's no real feel for period (the mid-'60s), and that dull Sheen psychodrama doesn't go away. Go to Full Review

There is no indication that Mr. Sheen ever yelled "Cut!" when he had a chance to send one of his actors over the top. Go to Full Review

A sluggish comedy of race relations from the sappy Sheens, it's instant fodder for In Living Color's satirical Wayans. Go to Full Review

Melody B Nov 5 Despite all the people who did not give this movie a good review I found this movie to be very moving with a strong sense of fellowship and well worth watching. See more 10/18/2024 A very touching film. I love how Bean slowly became friends with all the other dudes throughout his days there. When they finally got the mill working I was so happy. But that one scene really messed me up, you’ll know it when you see it if you haven’t. Pretty good prison flick, I thought it was going to be more like Escape From Alcatraz but it’s much more comparable to a coming of age movie. As weird as that sounds it’s just how I interpreted the film. Good stuff here 4/5 stars. See more 피코너 TheStingyHam 데 09/20/2024 Spoilers: I wasn't convinced that the Sargent was such a bad character. He just didn't seem bad enough from the start. He became a mental case due to the comparisons between his fictional son and the part played by the young Sheen. See more steve d 12/26/2022 its heart is in the right place, but it still doesn't work. See more 03/08/2019 This movie is soooooooo amazing. So few people know about it. Charlie Sheen's best film. The really sad thing is that Harry "Sweet" Stewart never got noticed. His singing was a big part of the movie with End Of My Journey. A actor who was superb as well. Sadly ended up homeless. I saw this when I was very young and have watched it many times since wearing out a recorded vhs tape and owning the subpar dvd import as you can't find a copy in the states. See more 08/20/2015 Cadence is a movie that I revisit as often as I can. It is not a particularly well-made movie but it meant a lot to me when I first watched it. I had my first warehouse job and my first job at which I was in the minority and I had the pleasure to get to know and learn from my own personal soul patrol. I met a guy named Terrell who helped me to really understand and appreciate racial diversity beyond what I had known in the previous years of my life growing up in a primarily white school district and neighborhood. In the film Charlie Sheen is imprisoned with five black prisoners including a great performance by Lawrence Fishburne, all under the control of a racist Master Sargent Otis McKinney played by his father Martin Sheen. The film highlighted the effects that racists of a previous generation really try to force their thoughts down onto the next generation. Your results may greatly vary from mine but it has a place in my heart. See more Read all reviews
