An affluent African American psychiatrist (Edi Gathegi), convicted of murdering his wife (Angela Sarafyan), is sentenced to life in federal prison, then sent to solitary confinement. Struggling to file an appeal, he descends into madness, pushed to his breaking point by an abusive female guard (Hardin) hell-bent on her own form of justice and haunted by his dead wife, causing him to question his own innocence and sanity.

Caged is most effective when it's focused on Harlow's paranoiac certainty that nobody on the outside of his cell cares for, or even really sees what he's going through.

"Caged" is really only worth your time if you want to experience how much solitary confinement sucks. If that is a conclusion you've already come to in life, feel free to skip it.

The good thing about Caged is that interesting stuff happens constantly in every scene. It is an interesting exploration of the effects of solitary confinement, a descent into hell merged with a contained Thriller

Edi Gathegi carries this film on his own and is very good. But the psychological horror of solitary confinement is a heavy one. Here, it's a theme too heavy to simply add some just-okay jumps/jolts. I think it would have been better without trying to be a horror film. What's wrong with just a psychological thriller?

First of all, let me make clear Women are not allowed in men's showers or even kept on men's side of a prison. Secondly, The abuse would have been reported by a male employee of the prison. All in all the critics got this one wrong!

I was confused about what type of movie it was supposed to be. The plot is just a guy stuck in a cell and tortured by a bitter woman. Complete waste of time. It didn't even end with a conclusion.

A rather boring film that kept me on screen due to the fact that the film takes place in prison and also due to whether the imprisoned person actually killed his wife or not. But that's all there is to this film good. As for the film effects and the story itself, it's a big disaster. An interesting idea, but unfortunately poorly implemented, which is a great pity. Otherwise, it could be a good movie, but unfortunately it didn't happen and the film became more of a boring spectacle, which I wished for a while to end.
