Frank Scheck Hollywood Reporter Camera Obscura squanders its intriguing premise with a ham-fisted execution. Jun 14, 2017 Full Review Simon Abrams RogerEbert.com None of this makes sense. Rated: 1/4 Jun 9, 2017 Full Review Michael Nordine indieWire Though born of an inventive idea, "Camera Obscura" comes out underdeveloped. Rated: C Jun 8, 2017 Full Review Patrick Cavanaugh The Wolfman Cometh Mostly pays off its ambiguous and psychological premise but feels unsure of itself, keeping itself too vague to its own detriment...there's nothing the film really does wrong, so if the concept sounds interesting, you're sure to enjoy it. Rated: 3/5 Feb 6, 2021 Full Review Joey Keogh Wicked Horror There are enjoyable moments scattered throughout... But, for the most part, Camera Obscura falls kind of flat. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/24/24 Full Review Audience Member Sought this out after seeing Pale Door and it was pretty good as well! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member I had to muscle my way through this one with a few glasses of wine. Ooof, Camera Obscura feels extemporaneous and completely lacking in direction from Koontz. The idea isn't bad, but I couldn't care less for anybody in the film and yeah...its just a mess. Definitely one of the worst films I've ever seen. I give it a half star for a great poster. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member Story copied from one of the Goosebump novels along with a terrible performing cast, makes a forgetting movie. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Crap. Plenty of gratuitous violence, and a few brief flashes of naked knockers, but overall ...crap. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member Makes little sense, unnecessary slashing as the "plot" is impossible to follow. Don't waste your time.
