Brandon G Just going to get right to it. This movie was one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen. Bad acting, bad storyline, bad idea. It just feels like Lisa Lisa was more concerned with making herself look like a Puerto Rican superhero that stands up to drug dealers and slimy record executives (while standing only 5 ft tall mind you) rather than what was really going on. Things like, I don’t know, SHOWING US HOW MUCH FULL FORCE HAD AN EFFECT ON YOUR CAREER!!! Instead we got 2 hours of Toni. Who the hell is Toni. I don’t know what she was thinking but I don’t think I can look at Lisa Lisa the same way after seeing this tragedy of a “biopic”. The fact that she didn’t even acknowledge the existence of Full Force was just wrong. That’s what we all wanted to see. I never imagined I would get to see her story captured in a movie. I found the acting believable, the characters relatable, and the story heartwarming. Musical biographies can go really wrong and get super corny, but this one was special. Especially with Lisa Velez cast as mami. Finally a real Nuyorican story that I support!!! Love love love!
