Audience Member Enjoyable. Captain Jack carried the show with a little cute romance with the young couple. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Really good true story (portrayed on film) of a sea captain's surreptitious voyage to the arctic with a suspect crew ... Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member I don't get to see true "made for British" movies very often, but this sure is one. The strong accents were fun to listen to, much more thick than most British accents we hear in the States. Worth the watch just for that alone. Cheeky buggers, Cocoa, fancy that, etc. The humor was a weird entertaining kind of funny, as it was English PG rated at worst, but really G rated for the most part. Bob Hoskins did a good job in this, as he usually does. The script was fun & wacky enough, though somewhat predictable. I wasn't sure whether it would get serious or not, but it really stays the course. Like-able. The bad? I noticed the low-quality sets and special effects. It harkened back to movies from the 1940s and 50's they were so fake. The live scenery was real though, and it was quite spectacular. In the end that was what drove me to look the movie up to see where it was shot. It was a entertaining, short (about 90 minutes) extra-light movie that you wonder whether or not you should be wasting your grizzled, modern eyes, but you are glad you did. Worthy ending.
