Luisa (Vera-Ellen) has a problem. After returning to Costa Rica from her studies in the United States, the young woman discovers that her parents have decided that she will marry Pepe (Cesar Romero). But Pepe has a serious girlfriend and isn't pleased with the setup either. When Luisa falls for U.S. businessman Jeff Stephens (Dick Haymes), the situation gets more complicated. Both Pepe and Luisa struggle to keep their secret lovers from crossing paths with each other -- and their parents.

Cory Woodroof 615 Film It’s goofy and probably a little grating since it was released in 1947, but it’s got a pretty sharp screwball comedy script for a movie like this, and the musical numbers, while naturally forced, are pretty darn enjoyable for what they are.
