Audience Member Powerful movie delving into the dark side of British-Pakistani culture. Strong, nuanced characters and shocking twists. Not for the faint hearted. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member A genuinely gripping story. The grim reality is wonderfully delivered. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Couldn’t hold my interest Rated 1 out of 5 stars 11/24/19 Full Review Audience Member This movie felt really really authentic. The experience felt like you were watching a true story play out in front of you. The story was great. The acting was excellent from every single actor involved. The emotions being conjured up by the events playing out were raw. Things were very realistic vs being outlandish in other movies just to have more action. I really enjoyed this movie. Note: it starts off pretty slow and weird to the point that you might question if you're watching the right movie... stick with it. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member such a beautiful film, but not for the fainthearted (or someone who wants to see a fairytale story with a happy ending) but a proper gritty British social realist film Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Whilst Muslim men are fine to date non-muslim women, it's a taboo when the other way around, and this is a damning and violent critic of that outdated attitude. Charlotte O'Sullivan London Evening Standard Robbie Ryan's wonderful, wonky cinematography dominates an unusual, wrenching take on “honour” killings, from first-time British director Daniel Wolfe. Rated: 3/5 Dec 26, 2023 Full Review Stephanie Bunbury The Age (Australia) Wolfe’s achievement here is something to behold; bleak and beautifully shot by ace cinematographer Robbie Ryan, Catch Me Daddy throws a bridge between classic British social realism and revenge tragedy with both sincerity and style. Dec 26, 2023 Full Review Stephen Dalton Hollywood Reporter A mature and serious-minded work that will appeal to fans of artfully gritty British social realism in the tradition of Ken Loach, Andrea Arnold and Lynne Ramsay. Dec 26, 2023 Full Review Brian Viner Daily Mail (UK) It’s a deeply troubling tale, stirringly told by a pair of film-makers who one hopes will continue as they have started, showing the keenest of eyes and ears for contemporary British life. Rated: 4/5 Dec 26, 2023 Full Review Ben Nicholson The Skinny An electrifying debut. Rated: 3/5 Dec 26, 2023 Full Review C.H. Newell Father Son Holy Gore There is a ton of great stuff to enjoy here, and it’s impressive this small film is capable of holding the weight it does.
