Erwa nach dem gleichnamigen Roman von Andreas Steinhöfel… Nachdem er den Sommer mit seiner besten Freundin Kat verbracht hat, um seiner Familie zu entfliehen, geht Phil wieder zurück zur Schule und beginnt über seine Gefühle gegenüber seinem neuen Klassenkameraden Nicholas nachzudenken… Eine Coming-of-Age Geschichte mit vielen Wendungen die in ich-form erzählt wird… Mit einer emotionalen Offenheit inszeniert so wird der Film für einen breiteren Publikums Kreis offener… Kurz gesagt, eine sehr guter Coming-of-Age-Film mit perfekter Charakterentwicklung der Mutter und der Zwillinge, die Schauspielerische Leistung ist sehr gut…

The cast was beautiful, the acting top notch and the story is interesting and just complex enough. The story is not just about Phillip's life but also those around him. It's filled with emotions. The pain and chaos of a disfunctional family,that best friend that you couldn't be without growing up, first love, betrayal, hope and resilience. The message is simple: be vulnerable, dare to love but have the courage to move on if they are not right for you. It is bittersweet, but then again most gay romance stories are.
