10/16/2019 An inspiring true story with a wonderful iconic score by Carl Davis. John Hurt is excellent. See more 10/06/2014 Sincere, top-notch performances from Hurt, Edward Woodward (as Champion's understanding boss), Jan Francis and Ben Johnson add credibility to John Irvin's wonderfully made film. See more 03/08/2013 What the synopsis fails to mention is that Champion's horse, Aldaniti (who plays himself in the movie) also suffers a potentially career ending injury and must recover from that while Bob Champion is dealing with his cancer and the treatments.
