Courier Sameer Behl (Shahid Kapoor) heads to Mumbai, India, chasing his Bollywood dreams. He is repeatedly rejected at auditions, but his skilled dance moves finally get him noticed, and he's signed to a lead role by a prominent director. Falling in love with choreographer Tina Sharma (Genelia D'Souza), Sameer seems on his way to success -- until he's dropped from the film and ends up homeless and working as a dance instructor. Despite these setbacks, Sameer keeps struggling toward his goal.
