Rasmi Simhan Dallas Morning News The melodrama of this film is odd considering the novel that inspired it. Rated: 2/5 Jun 28, 2002 Full Review Frank Swietek One Guy's Opinion Phony from beginning to end...you'd be well advised not to catch the film. Audience Member Everything was bleak and pointless. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Audience Member Chasing Holden is a story about the teenage Neil Lawrence, who has a writing assignment about the life of Holden Caulfield after Catcher and the Rye. To get the story Neil travels with a friend to find J.D. Salinger and along the way they get themselves into trouble. This film reminds me a lot of the film Ordinary People. The complexity of the character of Neil Lawrence surprised me. This story surprised me even though there were inconsistencies. Overall, it wasn't the worst nor was it the best. www.what-to-watch.com Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Holden is not a real person, just a guy living in a story. But some people reckon that they are like him, or they long to be him. I also used to be so. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member I don't like D.J. Qualls that much, he's not really leading man material. I guess if you like Catcher in the Rye, it's going to be a better film because they make LOTS of references to correlations because the guy is obsessed! Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Slow and unmemorable tale. This should have been better. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member An amazing follow up to the Catcher in the Rye. Maybe not the best acting but the plot DEFINATLY makes up for that.
