JK Sooja Common Sense Media The animation is beautiful in this sad and tender story. Rated: 3/5 Mar 3, 2022 Full Review Katie Liggera Cultured Vultures Child of Kamiari Month merges humourous elements like Japanese gods, a cute bunny, and marathon running into a timeless story about grief. Rated: 9/10 Feb 18, 2022 Full Review Brittany Vincent Decider It’s beautifully drawn and animated with a great English voice cast, and plenty of reasons for viewers young and old to gravitate toward it. Feb 12, 2022 Full Review James Marsh South China Morning Post Shirai's approach is laudably unflinching, while the animated style is clean and uncluttered, resulting in an earnest and heartfelt tale of facing up to life's toughest challenges. Audience Member the animation was lacking, especially for a movie, however the art is gorgeous, and the plot is quite engaging. However they definitely could've explored and developed the idea a lot more. However, I was quite satisfied when i finished it. Not something that i would watch over and over again by myself, but definitely a good movie to watch with a friend or family. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 07/10/25 Full Review Audience Member Really good movie about running, which is a metaphor for effort and persistence! Characters might seem a little underdeveloped, but it is made up with the themes and message of the movie. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 05/05/25 Full Review Gabe C A good movie for someone who has an hour or two to kill. Wouldn't say it's amazing, but after watching it you do want to start running more, so I guess that's a plus. Good animation, decent plot, good character development. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 12/31/23 Full Review Simon M Pop-philosophy tale about the importance of being true to yourself, felt like a second-rate Ghibli clone Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 12/09/23 Full Review Alejandro E Quizá el contrapeso de esta película es su parecido con El viaje de Chihiro. Sin embargo, la historia y su arte conceptual son suficientes en su defensa, y no tiene desperdicio. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 06/16/23 Full Review Audience Member Plot underdeveloped and moved too fast, I had no idea what was happening half the time. Characters shallow and underdeveloped, honestly the entire movie seems like it was written in 2 minutes. Would not recommend. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Read all reviews
