Child's Play updates an '80s horror icon for the Internet of Things era, with predictably gruesome -- and generally entertaining -- results.

Amy Nicholson FilmWeek (KPCC - NPR Los Angeles) I think they made a lot of good reasons for this [remake] to exist. Oct 1, 2019 Full Review Stephen Romei The Australian Overall, this is a fun 90 minutes, if you are into this sort of thing. Rated: 3/5 Jul 8, 2019 Full Review Clarisse Loughrey Independent (UK) At the very least, it achieves the baseline desire of a horror reboot: it's fun, it's scary, and it doesn't trample all over a legacy. Rated: 3/5 Jul 8, 2019 Full Review Keith Garlington Keith & the Movies In a nutshell it isn’t serious enough. It isn’t funny enough. It isn’t self-aware enough. Worst of all, it isn’t the slightest bit scary. Rated: 2/5 Aug 19, 2022 Full Review Dan Bayer Next Best Picture A reboot that takes a big chance in actually updating the story in ways that make sense and offer lots of possibilities, but has so much else that goes wrong that the final product ends up being a wash. Rated: 5/10 May 13, 2022 Full Review Brian Eggert Deep Focus Review Part cautionary tale about technological integration, part commentary on the destructiveness of youth culture, Child's Play does neither very well, but it's a worthwhile horror movie. Rated: 3/4 Mar 2, 2022 Full Review Read all reviews

Engin O Fun but forgettable, worth a watch if you’re bored. Nothing bad about it, but it’s fun while it lasts and nothing more Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/21/23 Full Review Alicia Bailon The new Chucky movie was basically a remake with a modern twist. Instead of voodoo magic it refers alot to Artificial Intelligence. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 09/02/19 Full Review Lucas H I thought it was an amazing movie. I think the original childs play movie fans are to distracted by the fact that it's not like the original to enjoy it. great movie imo Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/20/19 Full Review Tony D I did not think I was going to enjoy it this much. I get the premise was to turn all the safeguards off for an A.I. Toy doll... but still, it could’ve been something different, maybe. And I get they didn’t want to repeat a possessed doll story, but regardless... it was well done. And I mean cmon, it’s Mark Hammil! Anything with him is Gold! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 08/10/19 Full Review Kevin I give it a 5 out of 10 Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 08/05/19 Full Review Cierra The movie was funny.
