Martin Tsai Critic's Notebook "Chinese Doctors" is perhaps a prime example of a respected filmmaker directing with one hand tied behind his back. Aug 27, 2021 Full Review Carla Hay Culture Mix Shameless, tacky exploitation. It's a movie where people do perky group dances together in an overcrowded hospital while patients are dying around them. [And] a doctor yells jubilantly to COVID-19 patients, 'We'll get everyone cured as soon as possible!' Aug 12, 2021 Full Review Edmund Lee South China Morning Post It is hard to shake the impression that [Lau] was stuck awkwardly between embracing the official narrative and dreaming up tear-jerking scenarios that inspire audience catharsis.
