Derek L Although the plot may not be perfect, the Chipmunks Adventure still delivers a delightful and fun adventure with brilliantly done animation and songs. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 09/07/23 Full Review Audience Member The hit animated rodents from the popular music group and tv show debut in their first feature film Alvin, Simon, and Theodore are left at home with Ms. Miller while Dave is off on a business trip in Europe Alvin desperately wants to travel the world; so one day he and the Chipettes play an arcade game and unknowingly get into a secret diamond scheme by two rich socialites (secretly smuggling goods) All of them fly off in their air balloons to different points around the world stopping in various countries while narrowly escaping death Once they find out the real deal about the race they have to outwit the siblings best they can Still might be the best movie in the long-running franchise Total fun for kids despite the short running time Adventure-filled, catchy songs, suspenseful, and full of humor Educational too taking viewers across the globe with a not so complicated plot being a battle of the sexes Over the years the franchise and characters have won numerous awards, including Grammys, and the trio even have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Cool experience for younger viewers and longtime chipmunk fans Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 05/23/23 Full Review Erik S This movie is a very fun classic and with a very simple and enjoyable plot to watch. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/01/22 Full Review Audience Member The Chipmunk Adventure suffers from some very outdated values and mindsets that would make it come off as xenophobic had it come out today as well as some alarming writing...and yet it's still better than all 4 live-action/CGI movies thanks to its good animation (having noted Disney animator Glen Keane certainly calls attention to it), memorable musical numbers (that are original rather than covers for once) and more heart than those damned live-action adaptations. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member A childhood classic that shows everything great about the Chipmunks, and that era of animation. Charles Solomon Los Angeles Times The premise allows the film makers to use a lot of rather stereotyped "local color" as a background for the characters' various misadventures. Mar 7, 2018 Full Review Johanna Steinmetz Chicago Tribune For a movie that touches more bases than the Cubs on a winning day, ``The Chipmunk Adventure`` is remarkably cohesive. Rated: 3/4 Mar 7, 2018 Full Review Eric Henderson Slant Magazine Chipmunk Adventure is worth one toked-out viewing for Dody Goodman's gratingly senile Miss Miller and her description of the trio's daily breakfast menu. Rated: 3/4 Apr 2, 2008 Full Review Brian Orndorf Blu-ray.com Adventure is a pleasant, entertaining remainder that once upon a time, not long ago, the Bagdasarian legacy didn't have to sink so low to have some rock-out rodent fun. Rated: B+ Apr 5, 2014 Full Review Nancy Davis Kho Common Sense Media Mild and fun rodent romp 'round the world.
