Phil Hoad Guardian The framing device, whatever the commercial reasons, also has the unfortunate effect of sapping a degree of urgency from this ponderous and unfocused 1944-set tale. Rated: 2/5 Mar 2, 2017 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member It wasn't the greatest movie ever made on the subject, for example, it doesn't compare to "Defiance", which arguably is the greatest movie ever made on the subject, but it's a good movie worth seeing and emotionally moving. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Victoria C May not be historically correct. But a good movie nonetheless. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/04/21 Full Review Audience Member Great movie. Would make you think. Can this happen again once people forget the Holocaust, or don't believe it ever happened? Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member One of the worst movies I have ever seen. The Germans act like they're mentally disabled but that wouldn't even be a problem, the historical inaccuracies are painful. There is a weird scene I still can't explain exactly at 14:24 where Jewish people are being deported and are supervised by SS officers. One of the SS officers ,the rank SS-Untersturmfuhrer looks about 3 foot tall and around 12 years old. He is also decorated with Iron Cross First Class. Not bad for a 12 year old. Why is the Polish Slovak border guarded by an SS unit in 1944 when everyone who could hold a gun was fighting? Sonson could have just crossed through 100's of miles of mountains and forests but he chose to go through a checkpoint guarded by SS... The Germans attack with Soviet armor from 1955... Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member I've just watched that film and I'm so angry that I need to write that at the end that was one big lie. Uprising in Warsaw failed, while Russians were waiting under Warsaw for Germans to kill as many Poles as it's possible. After the uprising they resumed march to the west killing all Polish soldiers that were fighting on behalf of Polish government in London. There are only a few people on the west who know the real history Poland. That we were humiliated by Allies ex: Polish government in London was (which helped British and American a lot in WWII) replaced with Russian communist government without a word from the west, just like changing Polish borders which was violation of the Atlantic Card, Poland was the only country that was not invited to the London Victory Celebrations of 1946. There's a lot of more and nobody doesn't give a shit about that. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Something about the Holocaust movies are beyond sad. There is a sense of hopelessness in the inhumanity of it all. Never again!! Well acted and well done! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Read all reviews
