Victor O It's the Christmas season and the time for wholesome holiday movies is here. I was interested in seeing former WWE Women's Champion Trish Stratus in this hoping for a good movie. I got that and more in a beautiful bow. Alyssa Strader is an accomplished actress having been a successful child star and popular sitcom star but hits a roadblock trying to reenter movies with a B-movie that went bust. With Christmas around the corner, she feels nostalgic for happier times before her career and wants to spend time in her hometown of Rockwell. But her vacation from Hollywood couldn't have come at a rocky time as her epic premiere film achieves its twenty-fifth anniversary as the local theater celebrates with a film festival. As Alyssa does her best to blend in, people start to recognize her, but they are kind enough to respect her privacy, none more so than Jake, an old friend who had a crush on her in their early years. All this joy and cheer amidst two people falling for each other leads to a wonderful conclusion that only a holiday movie can bring. This was a solid holiday movie, and I must admit I was surprised, Trish Stratus delivered a wonderful performance. A heart-warming story told beautifully, with a good laugh thrown in the good drama. I especially loved the debut of Elle Ramsay as the young Alyssa. As well as this just being a good, clean, holiday movie the whole family can enjoy.
