Eilidh W So bad it was hilarious! Every cliche and stereotype you can think of. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 11/24/22 Full Review Audience Member I just discovered this movie been watching lot of Lifetime Christmas movies. I always liked Patrick Swayze Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member Feel good Christmas family caper, if you are expecting Citizen Kane you will be disappointed, but if you are looking for a fun lighthearted Christmas film that will make you laugh then this is for you. Tim Curry steals every scene he is in with his Scottish Canadian Mountie routine. The acting isn't the greatest and the dialogue is a bit odd at points, but the stronger actors in the cast Swayze and Curry really do the best with what they are given, the brief bit of CGI is ropy but I don't think this movie ever set out to change the world on that front its not Avatar! Give it a try keep an open mind and enjoy it for what it is Home Alone in a shopping mall. Really enjoyable film feel like the other reviews are far too harsh this deserves more. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review adam b Pretty bad. Follows every cliche a holiday family film could Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member This is one of my favourite Christmas films, always a must to watch at Christmas on a yearly basis. First discovered it on the Christmas 24 channel, and have loved it ever since, so much so I purchased the DVD for it. The main reason why this film is so good, is because of the comedic values it has. It is set in what is an ordinary every-day environment, yet has lots of adventure. This helps with connection -> engagement with the film. There are loads of funny scenes (mainly the the royal mountain Canadian police) where the inspector makes lots of funny comments on the situations and never addresses topics with their proper names, making him seem a bit ill, but is ever so funny. The acting skill of this actor is incredible. I would go on, but as you can probably tell, I am terrible at writing sentences, I saw its poor score here, which in my view is no way representative of the film at all. I think that it is an amazing film, and I encourage you to watch it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Found the youngest girl in the movie's character really irritating. Storyline also reminded me slightly of Home Alone too in a way. The location for the movie was really nice but I wouldn't want to watch this movie again as the storyline just wasn't that interesting. Wendy Ide Times (UK) With all due respect to his memory, it is truly execrable, a tawdry seasonal exploitation pic set almost entirely within a giant mall. Swayze fans, do yourself a favour and rent Point Break instead. Rated: 1/5 Nov 20, 2009 Full Review Catherine Shoard Guardian The note of morbidity lends faint interest to a film that's like spending an hour and a half inside an Argos catalogue. Rated: 1/5 Nov 20, 2009 Full Review Roger Moore Orlando Sentinel Christmas in Wonderland kills Christmas and Chris Kattan's career in one fell Santa swoop. Rated: 1/5 Nov 9, 2007 Full Review Andrea Beach Common Sense Media Christmas mayhem at the mall has stereotypes, rude language. Rated: 1/5 Apr 16, 2019 Full Review Total Film The ensuing shambles features Tim Curry as a gormless copper, two Home Alone-style villains and the worst CG elves we've ever seen. Rated: 1/5 Nov 20, 2009 Full Review Jamie Healy Radio Times Swayze is given little to work with as the bewildered dad, while Tim Curry's shameless turn as a Royal Mountie with an inexplicable Scot's accent is sheer panto excess.
