Blu B It's somewhere in the 3-3.5 very hard to decide. Everything is a step down here. This has all the minor problems the first one had but there even bigger here. The acting isn't bad. Dinklage, The Lion, Edward and Susan aren't bad. But the other siblings and the villians are just ok and very forgettable. Prince Caspian was just alright as the main new character and I don't know he just did nothing for me. He felt like a generic pretty boy extension of the main 4. Cinematography isn't bad here but not as good as the first. This relies a lot on CGI and it shows at points especially the giant battle near the end. This has a couple new set pieces which are cool but honestly the basic direction once again and the fact nothing is better or as memorable as the first really makes the orld not as immersive. The swords fights can be cool though. Music is a bit generic but sometimes it's as good as the first but not bad either. Everything else is just alright. I think my biggest problem is while this Caspian has the biggest arc here, he feels like an afterthought sometimes to the story of the 4 kids, the villian, and a bunch of other subplots I really didn't feel like paying that much attention too. It gets better when they join together but I don't know I got the general idea, but it kind of got hard to follow at certain points oddly enough. The 36 minute battle dragged on way too long also with way too much CGI also. The CGI in this is alright and vaires greatly. It does enough what a sequel is supposed to do but doesn't do anything as good as the first. If your a big fan of the books or any actors in this, than give this a try but most could probably skip this and just stick with the first. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 09/25/24 Full Review David R The only Narnia movie I genuinely love. The Pevensie children return to Narnia when summoned by Prince Caspian, the rightful ruler of a rival kingdom named Telmarine. This story is darker than the original but maintains the charm. Many of the original actors reprise their roles with some newcomers that include Peter Dinklage and the voice of Eddie Izzard as Reepicheep. Like the first movie, I’m not a fan of cgi characters mixed with practical effect characters, it just doesn't work for me and takes me out of the movie. The last act is a little long and might lose a few audience members. They do a lot right including following the original story (including the religious undertones), improvements to the computer graphics and some solid acting. I do think this is a worthy successor to the original film and worth a watch. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/07/24 Full Review Carter E I actually like this movie a bit better than the original. The story is a bit harder to follow than the original but it keeps you entertained. Prince caspian was pretty good, his acting wasn't terrible.
