11/22/2009 mi aspettavo di più :(( See more 06/06/2009 Such a waste of time. The director got no skills to tell the story, he tries to be artistic but the film appears as messy and trivial. The use of pop songs is just foppish. Out of all the baseball players the director picked the ones who are not hot, cannot act and eventually bit his own ass by saying stupid bigoted things during promotion, how lucky is he? See more 05/08/2009 It delivers one cringe-worthy cliche after another, drawing on bad movie conventions from the 80s for most of its inspiration, which would have been ok if it were a parody or a spoof. Except it isnt. It takes itself extremely seriously. And before long, you have been served so much embarrassment that you applaud the filmmaker for his persistence and obliviousness to all the cringe-worthiness. The corny dialogue is only less baffling than the bombastic and gawdawful music. In the end, it's not about baseball, it's not about homosexuality, it's not about famous dead singers. Or family, or love, or loss. All it is is a bunch of good looking bare bodies without souls. See more 03/23/2009 The self-important announcement that the baseball players play themselves in this movie seem only presumptuous at first, but after some introductory bits you actually find their enthusiastic overacting rather charming and quite touching really, baring both bodies and souls for all to see. With a little more focus, Scud could become a distinctive new voice in HK-cinema, whereas for now he's just another indie director with existentialist leanings.
