Audience Member A loteral con man propped up for his preference the fleece families out of their savings and donations through his promotion of The Message. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Very enlightening. We see Crump everywhere - but was not aware of his many, many other cases. He is truly an advocate for the marginalized. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Vincent S I watched CIVIL through the lens of having lived through the Civil Rights movement of the 1950s and 60s. It's painful to see how little has changed. The world needs more people like Ben Crump who are willing to fight for what is right and for those who can't fight for themselves. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/20/22 Full Review Bruce W Terrible propoganda. Ben Crump is a racist grifter who is happy to lie and ruin peoples' lives for the sake of wealth and power. This "documentary" is not to be taken seriously. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 06/20/22 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Dwight Brown DwightBrownInk.com Director Nadia Hallgren takes a balanced approach to establishing all Crump’s personae: media-savvy attorney, savior, counselor, extended family member, spokesman, activist. Rated: 2.5/4 Jul 21, 2022 Full Review Noel Murray Los Angeles Times Mostly, this is a fascinatingly detailed look at the hard work Crump’s team does to build effective cases, even for people who don’t land in the national headlines. Jun 24, 2022 Full Review Lisa Kennedy New York Times Given Crump’s vital role in momentous litigation, “Civil” may be crucial viewing — but it’s not always revealing. Jun 20, 2022 Full Review Cory Woodroof 615 Film This actually works a lot better than most “meet this person and see what they do” documentaries because of how humanizing it is. Nov 30, 2022 Full Review Rahul Desai News9 Live (India) Being civil in the face of cultural hostility, after all, is a symbol for the ages. Jul 19, 2022 Full Review John Serba Decider Civil could use a little more depth and focus at times, but as a profile of a compelling figure in modern America, it succeeds at capturing what drives and sustains Ben Crump’s quest for justice.
