Audience Member Browsing for the recently added films on Neflix, I stumble upon Cloclo. It immediately got my attention. But, a biopic about an artist I don't even know? And that artist is french? And the movie is in FRENCH??? Sometimes, the universe makes decisions for you that you don't quite understand, but know for a fact you have to. This was one of those. Cloclo is, to quote Netflix, a biopic that "traces the tumultuous life of pop superstar Claude François, from his early years and meteoric rise to his tragic death." This movie is absolutely amazing! The tour de force performance by Jérémie Renier, the locations, the storytelling, the musical montages. Powerful and electric! Then I understood why this movie called upon me. Claude François is the writer and composer of the french song Comme d'habitude, which would later be recorded in an English version by Frank Sinatra for his world hit, My Way. Some things come on their own. Others, we search for. Regardless of the way they arrive, it's all about the way we cherish those moments that will linger forever in our hearts. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member The biographical story of cloclo..a lot to learn although the movie is just ok Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member I saw this in Paris, last year. I didn't understand what they were saying but I could understand the story line and what was happening. I truly enjoyed it. I can't wait till it becomes available for sale. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member A very well produced and acted film, Jeremy Renier carries the film through and through. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member A French movie can be great to i see ...great acting from Jeremie Renier ! Lui. Mark Kermode Observer (UK) Jrmie Renier is magnetic in the title role: energetic, infuriating, and oddly creepy. Jun 24, 2012 Full Review Tim Robey Daily Telegraph (UK) Too generously scaled at 148 minutes, but pulled off with consistent high style by director Florent-Emilio Siri, and ultimately quite moving. Rated: 4/5 Jun 22, 2012 Full Review Phil Hoad Guardian This biopic of French singer Claude Franois almost summons the grandeur of a Scorsese personality opera. Rated: 3/5 Jun 21, 2012 Full Review Kate Stables Total Film Dardenne brothers favourite Jrmie Renier is uncannily good as the tightly wound star, as well as a dead ringer for him.
