yash b 08/02/2020 "Cocktail" isn't the first movie to feature a love triangle and it likely won't be the last. However, this movie presents two characters who are extreme versions of real-life personalities, which kept things somewhat interesting. The story does move as a messy pace at times and hits a few predictable notes, but I liked the characters in the movie enough to say this movie is fine for a one time watch. I think the movie has some interesting ideas about what people's expectations are for relationship partners and wished the movie focused more on exploring that. The ending of the movie felt a bit safe and I thought the whole last act was very dragged out and longer than it needed to be. Overall, it isn't a perfect romance movie and it also isn't the best, but I think it is a solid one with that hits occasional realistic notes that keep it unique enough. There is a great ending that all rom-com fans will enjoy.
