Critics Consensus

Full of groin-centric humor and tired sports clichés, The Comebacks is poor even by parody movie standards.

Dec 3, 2007 Full Review Josh Rosenblatt Austin Chronicle The fact that The Comebacks makes fun of another sports parody, Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, doesn't make it a good movie, but it does say something about the pilfering, postmodern, post-ironic age of cinema we live in. Crippa N Don't believe the negative reviews!!!!!!!! This movie is a top ten comedy for me not questions. The rapid fire rate of jokes is overwhelming and will take multiple views to catch the subtle and not subtle jokes being thrown at you constantly. Yes the humor is sophmoric and crude and immature and probably insensitive to many folks sense of humor. But for a perpetual middle schooler locked in this adult body, it gets me every time. I can't even give this movie a good enough review. You won't be disappointed if you can get in the right mood and just giggle away. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/06/23 Full Review Dusty When it comes to stupid movies that are funny, this is one of my favorites!! If you're a sports guy, you'll get everything that happens. I've seen this movie countless times and I'm still always up to watch it again. I don't care what the ratings say!
