Audience Member I watched this because l have flu, it was on and it has Hedy Lamarr. Routine western enlivened by speculation as to what she was up to when not filming. Probably splitting the atom and discovering new sub atomic particles. I can see what she ended her life not speaking to anyone face to face for a number of years. You will feel the same after watching this. Having said that it is a perfect movie if you have flu and feel that way beforehand. Rated 2/5 Stars •  Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member Ray Milland is oddly cast as an old west magician and trick shot artist who gets caught up in a town feud between ex-US soldiers and ex-rebel soldiers, which mostly revolves around a copper mine. Hedy Lamarr plays the town femme fetal, which was the main reason I watched this film. The film does have some good action, which you'd expect from director John Farrow, and Lamarr is good as always, but the film is overall a pretty average western. Rated 3/5 Stars •  Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Filmed in Technicolor, 'COPPER CANYON' is easy upon the eyes, and the post of director is capably filled by John Farrow, who deals nicely with an overabundance of subplots, yet who concentrates upon those elements which will move the action along smartly, yet allow for development of character--Ray Milland was more fun than usual. I thought character development was superior to most westerns of the time; except perhaps for Hedy's role, which seemed a little ambiguous. Good western. Hedy Lamarr's physical presence was an added bonus... Glimmer and colorful Western with splendid main cast and large plethora of secondaries!! There are some stiff performances, Mona Freeman in particular but the color photography is gorgeous as is Hedy. An enjoyable picture but unremarkable.
