Critics Consensus

Corky Romano continues the trend of bad movies featuring SNL members. The jokes are tired and unfunny, and the slapstick feels forced.

Eighth rate tired, unimaginative mob comedy. Go to Full Review

Unlike the pathetic protagonists of many a smart dumb comedy, Corky never becomes sympathetic, and without this fundamental irony the movie doesn't have a leg to stand on. Go to Full Review

Chris Kattan should have been in silent comedy. He has the Silly Putty face of those old slapstick stars, and a sing-song, splitting-headache vox box that would have played much better in the silents. Go to Full Review

Corky Romano, is the perfect antidote for what ails you. Although shallow and at times uneven, Saturday Night Live's ever-funny Chris Kattan as Corky, is an endearing goof-ball with a heart the size of Texas, guaranteed to make you smile. Go to Full Review

Although Corky Romano is not based on a Saturday Night Live sketch, it is still as dismal. Go to Full Review

Elijah S Apr 28 Caution: laugh-free zone ahead. See more Lee H 03/24/2023 Why people dog this movie — I'll never know. If you like Chris' slapstick and goofy styles, this is a fun one. Along with Peter Falk, Berg and Chris Penn, this one is silly and entertaining. See more weasel 8 02/05/2023 This movie is crazy hilarious!!! I loved it!!! See more 07/27/2022 One of the worst movies on Disney + I have ever seen. Full of unlikeable characters, wooden acting, painfully unfunny "skits" and terrible cinematography, I can't recommend this to anyone. See more 06/30/2021 Ignore all these reviews!!! It's SO funny! If you want a dumb movie to forget all your worries, this is THE one. My family quotes this movie weekly and we watched it 15 years ago. See more jordan m 03/06/2021 I think it helps a lot going into critically-panned comedies to read the reviews beforehand as it helps you to go in expecting to hate it. It turns out I did not hate this movie at all and found some of the jokes landed perfectly. Not all of them, mind you, but there were several, and that's more than what the reviews lead me to believe there would be. The underlying plot was 100% implausible, obviously, and a few of the jokes at the very end used totally unnecessary slurs, but this still doesn't reach the top 10 worst comedies I've seen. I certainly don't recommend spending your time on it, but it's not horrible. See more Read all reviews
