Critics Consensus

Despite all the celebrities on hand, this spin-off from a theme park attraction still feels tired and hokey.

Billy Ray A Most Underrated Movie Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/22/24 Full Review Dale R The first movie Disney created that is based on one of their amusement park attractions - The Country Bear Jamboree, follows a young bear named Beary that convinces an old, broken-up band of bears to reunite to raise money to save their old performance venue. The characters used in the movie are all from the attraction, but a majority are from The Five Bear Rugs, the large group in the middle of the performance. These bears I would consider to be side or background performers and lesser known than some of the soloists. So I question the decisions on what bears from the attraction to use in the movie. There are quite a few cameos in this movie and some of them break out into songs that turn into music videos. This slows down the plot a lot, though some of the songs are enjoyable. The songs were a mix of rock with some country influence and this differs greatly from the music in the attraction. The puppeteering of the bears ranged from not good to well done. I enjoy the characters from the theme park and I think they could work in a film, they just don’t in this one, skip it. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 07/07/24 Full Review Barilla T Extremely Underrated movie. Yes it is goofy but it is perfect for kids and adults will appreciate the cameos from the famous musicians plus Walken at his wackiest Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/28/24 Full Review Dalton Funny, good paced, family friendly entertainment. Surprisingly good SFX! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/16/24 Full Review Warren A This movie's terrible script has earned it every one of these bad reviews. But mixed in with the unfortunate adoption plot and the Blues Brothers inspired road trip are a few fantastic musical performance, voiced by Bonnie Raitt, Don Henley, Jon Hiatt and others. Given the brisk 90 minute running time, sitting through (or fast forwarding past) the bad leaves a few scenes that are quite enjoyable. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 09/10/23 Full Review cayleejune this is the BEST movie ever. such a masterpiece. 100000/10. my favorite character is fred bedderhead. he is so awesome and cute. zeb zoober is the craziest character ever. he is so funny. everyone needs to watch!!!!
