      John A R Was competent. Has good characters and a good heart. But, was too jingoistic and reverent for things NOT PERTAINING TO THE STORY. Too much virtue signaling, flag waving, gun waving, dirt track racing, serving in military. All these things are fine, but the story suffered by too much diverted reverence, too much slow-walking the audience. Movie is only 90 minutes, but could have been cut by 20 more minutes, or spent that time developing more tension or excitement. Writing was weak, yet the actors all did the job - the art of embodying each character. Tom Wopat & Jeff Fahey displayed good charisma and believable friendship, but had to play "reverent" to too many non-contributing, ancillary threads. The good news, despite a screenplay with few lines of ANY character, the supporting female parts were all well-rounded, with their own power and agency.
