      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

Despite the beautiful visuals, Crime and Punishment is too somber and pretentious. Also, the acting is of mixed quality.

Audience Member This is a movie that pulls no punches. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Frances H Interesting film that I found to very profoundly sad, because the teens involved seemed to have absolutely no support from any of the adults who should have been helping them. Instead, they floundered about in their own world try so hard to cope, because the adults selfishly were too concerned with their own problems. Thus, the movie has a lot to say about the state of youth in society today. At least it ends on an up note with the boy everybody called a freak coming to the girl's aid and giving her some hope. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 07/26/13 Full Review Audience Member Keena's intense performance is the fuel that makes "Crime+punishment in suburbia" more than a self-indulgent teen drama. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member A strange and uneven film about a messed up family whose problems end in murder. Needless characters and subplots mar an overall good production. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Actually pretty good.
