Acting was credible and professional. All the actors are from England and Scotland! It was fun just watching the movie to listen to them do an American accent, circa 1970s, Pennsylvania--I think it takes place in Pennsylvania if I remember correctly. One can usually depend on the actors from the British Isles to do a first-rate acting job. Writing was good. But it all takes places within a narrow location, so the viewer knows it's a low-budget film. Too bad. This one could have been expanded, with these actors, to be a really fine film.

I Don't understand how people have given this 70%! What a terrible film. Probably one of the worst I've seen. A half baked idea that leaves you incredibly disappointed. Half the movie is in slow motion! It almost felt as if this was written by GCSE drama students.

Reunited a year after the disappearance of their little girl, a grieving family is threatened by strange lights and other unexplainable phenomena coming from the skies. Intriguing and poignant, "Dark Encounter" rises above most Sci-Fi/horror movies as it delves into the tragedy of a family dealing with the unknown, focusing on the internal conflicts of each character. A remarkable approach to the alien abduction topic.
