      Critics Consensus

DASHCAM is visually and thematically provocative, although the film's grating protagonist undercuts its effectiveness.

Paul totally different type of horror movie. I loved it!! And it was funny as heck also. 🤪 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/05/22 Full Review Ben D Ok don't get me wrong the main character is the most unlikeable person ever but oh man did I have a good time with this movie. It kept on getting better but I will say the first 20 minutes was horrible. I was thinking, oh this is an automatic one star but by the end I ended up having a good time with this movie. The jump scares are really effective and the gore is good too. And if you hate this movie I completely see why but I enjoyed it. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/24 Full Review cody b The premise is horrible, the main character is insufferable, it's painfully confusing (the the point where it's almost unwatchable), and the scares are cheap, goodnight. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/29/24 Full Review Andrew G This is genuinely one of the worst films I have ever seen. Suspending disbelief for a moment, as you should for any movie, the actions of the characters make little to no sense throughout the film, the pacing was abysmal, and the camera work was unbelievably bad. I get that they went for the shaky cam, first person, found footage vibe; but I could barely see what was happening throughout most of the movie. Found footage is a subtle art, that can work under the correct circumstances, but these people know less than nothing about how to execute it. It felt like a vanity project for rich film school students and a singer who couldnt act her way out of an imaginary paper bag. The people who made this movie have very little talent, and they should be ashamed of themselves for the end product. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/29/24 Full Review Ian L What a load of shite, thankfully I got to about 50 mins and skipped to the end it was so awful, plus the main character is a vile human being and instead of rooting for her you're hoping that she gets killed. Absolute garbage. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/18/24 Full Review Miche H I thought that it was on the better / more convincing end of "found footage" camera work Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/17/24 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Edward Porter Times (UK) The blurry, jerky photography is a bit annoying, but the supreme irritant is the woman herself, a childish, potty-mouthed American visitor to the UK. Rated: 1/5 Aug 24, 2022 Full Review Richard Whittaker Austin Chronicle Dashcam, unlike few films, relies on your annoyance. Jun 6, 2022 Full Review Clarisse Loughrey Independent (UK) Dashcam makes a good point: when the whole world’s coming at you through a screen, it becomes increasingly hard to tell the difference between life and entertainment. Rated: 4/5 Jun 3, 2022 Full Review Kat Halstead Common Sense Media While we've seen plenty of antiheroes over the years and a flurry of "unlikable" female characters in the wake of Fleabag, Annie takes the concept to a whole other level. Feb 22, 2024 Full Review Bill Bria Vague Visages Dashcam is a mainstream horror film that’s very much in the tradition of other punk exploitation filmmakers like Lloyd Kaufman and his Troma group, a shock rock-style movie that’s brazenly and irresponsibly controversial. Jun 6, 2023 Full Review Taylor Baker Drink in the Movies Dashcam revels in its formal presentation which both Savage and Hardy seem to not only understand but have a talent for delivering through.
