Alain E This is very well photographed and acted but I admit I have no idea what is going on. In the beginning we are given the impression that the man is chasing the woman in order to hurt her. In the end it is not clear how the little girl died. Was the body all the time in the trunk of the mother’s car? So the sequence in the thrift store is all fantasy? The father is remarkably calm in the final scene when they bring the little girl’s body in the house. He doesn’t treat his wife as if she were hallucinating. Help! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/06/25 Full Review Kevin L Terrific performance by Leeanna Walsman. This is my first experience watching a movie by writer/director Christopher Houghton. It's a mature, assured work by a more than competent filmmaker. This is a movie for grown up people, especially those who are familiar with some of the themes here: deep unexpected loss; shady, self-serving creeps; and running in denial and fear. There are some issues, possible plot holes. I didn't watch the film as closely as I usually do, but I feel I have a good grasp of it holistically. The reveal is well-managed, with no obvious clues, from dialogue or visual cues. Nice performance as well from young Onor Nottle as the daughter, Steph. But mostly it's Walsman's impressive work in conveying the frustration, wrenching indifference, and sorrow that carries the movie. 3 stars Rated 3 out of 5 stars 04/15/23 Full Review Read all reviews
