Audience Member This movie left me without words and deeply impressed... Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member I have no choice but rate this movie full marks, probably because I'm Flemish myself. Anyway this drama is based on real events, which I remember reading in the newspapers. This film makes me think about this other film called Closet Land where an innocent female writer is being tortured in a foreign prison. In De hel van Tanger the name of the country is Morocco. This fact makes it easier to judge the country and as a result I could read Flixster reviews where it says "I will never travel to Morocco any more!". A bit of an injustice because what these Flixster users don't realize is that this kind of torture happens in many poor countries other than Morocco. It might have been better to hide the name of the country. It's absolutely worth watching and it doesn't make the viewer glad. I hope this movie - as well as Closet Land - helps fighting injustice. Let's just give poor Dawit Isaak a minute of attention. He's just one of the currently tortured prisoners the media is fighting for, so far unsuccessfully. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member Great Belgian movie. After seeing this movie I do not want to go to Maroc. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member One of Belgian's greatest films. It's about the hard life in jail in Marocco for an innocent man. Gran Pelicula. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Audience Member So unbelievable that such story can happen nowadays in Europe...
