Paul Freitag-Fey Daily Grindhouse 08/02/2019
A goofy film, but one that's never dull is certainly entertaining enough to warrant the recent occasional cult reputation it's built. Go to Full Review
Heather Wixson Daily Dead 01/07/2016
2.5/5
The film takes its premise very seriously, but it's the use of Daschunds in rat costumes that has given Deadly Eyes something of an unintentional comedic spin, making for a rather uneven horror experience. Go to Full Review
John Beifuss Commercial Appeal (Memphis, TN) 09/04/2014
2.5/4
The rat sequences are rather potent if you can overlook the fact that the ravenous rodents are often DACHSHUNDS, dressed in little rat outfits and little rat masks. But you can't overlook this, which is what makes this movie great entertainment. Go to Full Review
Mike McGranaghan Aisle Seat 07/15/2014
1.5/4
Deadly Eyes has a lot of underdeveloped characters and stilted dialogue that drags it down whenever the rats aren't on-screen. The performances are also, shall we say, a bit stiff. Go to Full Review
Jeff Beck Examiner.com 07/14/2014
2.5/5
With its overly-familiar story and a group of characters that you merely hope will soon become rat food, Deadly Eyes makes for a somewhat tedious viewing experience. Go to Full Review
Tim Brayton Antagony & Ecstasy 07/14/2013
2/10
A legitimately solid candidate for an alcohol-assisted Bad Movie Night party. Go to Full Review

Daniel C. M 11/02/2024 This could've easily been one of the better cult and trashy 80s movies ever, specially because the first 15 minutes are very promising; unfortunately, the movie is more worried in focussing on irrelevant romantic drama subplot between the main characters that literally nobody cares; by the time the subway sequence kicks in and we are back into fine and solid gore and action, the movie ends out of nowhere. See more Damien T 10/24/2023 One of my favourite rat horror films that I've seen! I watched this film after I finished Ben (1972), and I enjoyed Deadly Eyes very well! Robert Clouse's direction, Anthony Guefen's score, Sam Groom's performance and the plot was my favourite, while the screenplay was an average. Even though this film is loosely based on The Rats novel, I'll give this film 4 out of 5 stars and an "A-" grade. See more 06/13/2022 Not since they cut the tall grass in the empty field across from my house, have I been this terrified of rats. Scream as they hunt teenagers. Run as they set siege to a city. Rub your wrist with concern as they imitate slap bracelets. See more 03/17/2019 not that bad, decent friday night flick with dogs on rat suits.
