J M When your goddaughter recommends a movie, you want to find at least something positive to say about it. But good gravy Marie, this is one BAD movie. This may be the most thrill-less thriller and the most suspense-less suspense movie I've ever seen. Performances across the board are bad bordering on lethargic - it's almost as if everyone is on Propofol. The film spends way too much time on exposition, and what should be the most exciting and climactic parts feel rushed. It's a rather preposterous premise which just grows more and more unbelievable, and the ending is laughable. This is sub-Lifetime Television Movie Event territory here. Thankfully, there are a couple so-bad-they're-good moments that save this from a ZERO star review. But if you're looking for a truly memorable suspense movie, you're barking up the wrong tree here. Sorry, Bekah! - Jeff Marshall, Movie Blogger (Facebook) Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/18/24 Full Review Audience Member As far as hostage situations are concerned this movie has a unique edge. Add to it a cozy home environment with unstable town hosts it quickly turns into a nightmare. Ive always felt a thriller is far more effective when the Villains start off as warm and inviting . Soon after the illusion of trust is built the turn of events heightens far more effectively. Instead of an unhinged sociopath being immediately obvious the threat coming from within never fails to instill realism towards true shock and terror. I felt this movie had it all and I was pleasantly surprised by the twist ending. I felt this was a treasure among another not so well known work of art. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Odd it's so cheese 🫕 Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member The movie had regular predictable cliches which made it seriously cheesy. How many times do they have to repeat "you look like her" to the character? So she looked like another girl who a town thought was dead, which meant getting kidnapped by the dead girl's parents and accomplices? So bizarre. It felt like a try hard movie that just fell flat on it's face. One word- CHEESY. Pass on it. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member This one wasn’t as bad as other TV movies I’ve seen. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 10/03/19 Full Review adam b Only good thing about the film is the twist in the end. Everything else could be labeled as complete trash Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
