Audience Member Yul Brenner's greatest movie, LOL!!!!!!!! Ages 17+. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member Decent enough, though slow moving. The characters are mostly interesting, though the dialog is pretty flat. The story isn't the most remarkable part, and the ending is on the lackluster side. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member Mill Creek's 50 Movie Pack: Chilling Classics Reviews Antonio Margheriti's CON LA RABBIA AGLI OCCHI (English translation: WITH ANGER IN THE EYES)/ DEATH RAGE [1976]: The final feature film of famed actor Yul Brynner (THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN [1960]) and directed by the cult famed, prolific Italian filmmaker Antonio Margheriti. CON LA RABBIA AGLI OCCHI or under its US title DEATH RAGE is a run of the mill gangster film. Set in Naples, Italy a former mob hit man (Brynner) comes to Naples to hunt down and kill the killers of his brother. As a result generic gun fights, romantic subplot and a typical revenge plot unfold. THOUGHTS: From the same Veteran director behind a heap of low budget Sic-Fi, Sword and Sandal epics, Spaghetti Westerns, Horror and action films. Margheriti was an undoubtedly comfortably with another generic feature film. And to cut to the chase it's a run of the mill action revenge film. So it wouldn't surprise me that one day that this film will be remade with Jason Statham in the role once inhabited by Yul Brynner. My rating for this film is a solid 50%. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member A former New York mob hitman goes to Naples to kill the man who murdered his brother. Contains an awkward romantic subplot between the hitman and a gal pal of his somewhat wet behind the ears new protoge but does have a good final funeral scene. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member The original title makes more sense than Death Rage, but Margheriti does not use the flaw of eye degeneration in an interesting manner. Instead, we get copious violence, car chases showing off Milan, and Bouchet showing off her herself. The alliterative cast of Brynner, Bouchet, Balsam and Borghese are all good - but cast completely for type and simply going through the motions this time around. Worth seeing uncut, but perhaps not a priority or a good genre introduction. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Audience Member What's there is likeable enough ... but there's not enough. The script is like a booklet of thumbnail sketches for a richer movie about a hitman who has a few remaining drops of emotional vulnerability, with the same actors.
