Audience Member I didn't ask for much with this film... I just wanted it to be better than the first. And it wasn't. So the good? They sort of change genres to make this film more of a mystery. Sugar and Dex are looking for the new Clan Leader Vampire to use its blood to bring their vampire hunter buddy from the first film back to life. There's some attempt to keep this a mystery to the audience by supplying several suspects. That's good. This is also a true sequel in that it does logically follow the first film and references the few plot points that had; some of these sequels abandon continuity altogether so I give props if they keep it. The bad? The film isn't exactly interesting. There's a couple of interesting plot points, some nice character moments, but still too few. Sugar has matured since the first film, but again I feel her character is a missed opportunity in exploring her vampire with a conscience sensibilities. Marvin, their puppet companion, also feels wasted. In conclusion, Full Moon... I wish you cared more about your movies... But I know it's all about making a quick buck. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member A little more interesting than the first, but still very lacking. The characters are alright, but the story is still a bit confusing and generic. There is still a lot of grossness and pointless bits, but for the most part, it's a bit more tamed- but not my much. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member Sugar and Dex have survived Morella's wrath, but now it is up to them to stop another foul vampire lord from collecting the last remaining souls he needs in order to grant himself immortality, using a sleazy strip club as his front for luring in new victims. Like the previous film, DECADENT EVIL 2 is utter garbage, and barely passable even as a cheesy B-movie. Some may say that the insufferable characters, unimaginative plot, and artless direction should all be expected from a Full Moon film of the time, but Charles Band generally brings some fun form of exploitation to even the worst of his features. The sex doesn't sell here, and neither does the horror. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Read all reviews
