The team of top-secret program brings ATF agent Doug Carlin (Denzel Washington) into its midst to capture the terrorist (Jim Caviezel) responsible for a ferry bombing that left hundreds dead. Its amazing technology lets the team fold time four days backward and see the madman's movements as he plots to kill a woman who could give him away. Doug realizes that the technology could allow him to do what law-enforcement officers dream of -- go back in time to prevent the crime.

Sounds a bit dodgy, huh? Not when an in-form Denzel Washington is involved. He's the glue that keeps this absurdly compelling thriller together as it mashes up the present and the past to intoxicating effect.

It's a very good film. But the plot became predictable once the strange part of the story gets revealed. It still kept me on the edge of the seat though, so it served the purpose.

An okay movie despite the silly pretense of time travel. Denzel Washington's performance is not what he later became. He seems lazy in this. Val Kilmer helps the movie. Otherwise a forgettable film, which is unusual for a Scott free production. Not worth a second watch. But first time around it's worthwhile.

Ignore the so called critics. This a great thriller movie. Classic and fun and intriguing if you don’t look too closely. Tony Scott at his best. Maybe it’s just right for me balancing sci fi and action with the thriller genre. They don’t make them this good anymore.

It had more potholes than a road in Birmingham, but that’s what you get with most time travel films. Overall, it was entertaining enough, although the male casts obsession with a dead Paula Patton was down right weird. Could’ve done with much more Jim Caviezels character.
