Liam D This sequel loses the campy charm of the original and it's an boring one man army film with Chuck Norris (Silent Rage, The Octagon) even slumming it in a Cannon (The Assault, The Apple) shoot em up Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/23/24 Full Review DanTheMan 2 While Delta Force 2 has very little in common with the original outside of Chuck's Colonel Scott McCoy, it does at least carry over the more over-the-top aspects from the latter half of the original, however, unlike the original, Delta Force 2 is decisively over-the-top from the get-go with no attempt at being semi-serious. The film certainly has a mean streak, plenty of innocents and not-so-innocents are killed in a variety of ways, it's wince-inducing but weirdly also rather dull in parts, but thankfully contains a mixture of fun action set pieces and stuntwork, credit where credit is due Director Aaron Norris (younger brother of Chuck) does earn his paycheck. Speaking of, Chuck is as entertaining as always but the rest of the cast is just kinda there with no real sense of presence like you got in the first film. You can tell that Billy Drago's villain was originally written for Jean-Claude Van Damme (before he went off to do Cyborg instead). The music by Frédéric Talgorn is pretty much just your substandard military marches without any flair and nowhere near as funky as Alan Silvestri's score to the first film. While I still had fun with Delta Force 2, the film clearly suffered from mid-production rewrites that brought it down a bunch, the humour often clashing with the dark tone. Losing any sense of political hangups in favour of explosions and endless waves of goons being shot Delta Force 2 while worse than the first, is still great fun even if it's decidedly mid-tier Cannon and Norris. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 07/05/23 Full Review David W Enjoyable action flick that features the Mk2 more muscular Norris. It makes no pretentions towards believability or subtlety but it's an undemandingly fun, action packed, 80's style ride. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 06/21/23 Full Review Audience Member A horrifically made movie, especially given the budget this movie obviously had. The action coordination is atrocious. Bad guys who expose themselves and wait to be shot, helicopters with unlimited rockets despite having only eight pods, and hand-to-hand fight sequences that are comedic in their choreography. An embarrassment to the American film industry. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review christopher c. m I really miss the cool vehicles they had in the first one. Lastly the climax is a bit of a let down, no spoilers. But I was expecting something bigger. It's still an assume movie that doesn't get enough credit. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Quiet entertaining even though the plot is a bit thin. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
