Caitlyn Downs ScaredSheepless.com Pacing issues and an abundance of exposition dampen an otherwise solid attempt at a folk horror story. Rated: 2.5/5 Sep 10, 2022 Full Review Martin Unsworth Starburst It’s clichéd as hell, but Demigod is an entertaining low budget shocker that’s worth a look. Rated: 3/5 Feb 23, 2022 Full Review Kelly Vance East Bay Express A routine piece of seasonal work. Oct 28, 2021 Full Review Frank Swietek One Guy's Opinion Wants to be suspenseful and scary, but it's so inept that it merely proves risible-though not sufficiently so as to become enjoyably campy. Rated: F Oct 20, 2021 Full Review Jon Mendelsohn CBR This movie is not groundbreaking by any means, but if audiences are jonesing for an original and campy horror film that features pagan rituals and unnerving villains, then Demigod might just be the right pick. Oct 20, 2021 Full Review Bill Arceneaux Moviegoing with Bill "Demigod" exists on that all too fun plane of monster makeup vibrations, of lived in witchery worlds, and of survival of the fittest tales that make tape heads and VHS freaks weak in the knees. Thom G I stopped after 50 minutes. It was too poorly executed, and the acting was unconvincing from everyone. It could have been enjoyable if it had been intentionally made poorly though. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/26/24 Full Review Adam B The three main witches are terrible actresses. Clean costumes; weak blood affects; this might as well have been a stage play. Skip this one Rated 1 out of 5 stars 06/03/23 Full Review marc s Terrible acting..untalented actors if you can call them that..as a German inwas thoroughly insulted by the use of google translate German ..these people should never act again. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/16/23 Full Review Jeffrey P Not much depth to any of it, and the depth it did try to add didn't even make any sense. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Really bad. Hackneyed, cliched, stupid. Don't waste your time. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member When her grandfather dies, Robin (Rachel Nichols) and Leo Murphy (Yohance Myles) return to her birthplace in Germany's Black Forest to find a terrifying secret waiting for them. Yes, as always, you should never go back home ever again. Directed, co-written by and featuring acting by Miles Doleac (Hallowed Ground, The Dinner Party, The Historian), this movie also finds him bringing back Jeremy London from Mallrats to play Robin's grandfather in flashbacks, the kind of dude who makes kids eyeballs out of freshly killed deer. So before you know it, three witches and the demigod Cernunnos, Lord of the Hunt, are killing everyone and anyone as they hunt the different characters in pairs. There's an awesome reveal of the demigod which brought Demonoid to mind which is — in my world — a very good thing. I mean, this is the kind of movie that dares to start with three witches ripping a demon baby directly out of a woman's stomach. That takes some guts because how do you follow that? This is the best film I've seen Doleac create and it's a marked improvement over his previous movies. This really surprised me. It's a quality folk horror slasher hunt movie that has some name actors and a budget used to its fullest. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
