Audience Member Terrorists take over a high school and hold everyone hostage, but the one thing they didn't count on was troublemaker bad boy Corey Haim! Pretty much "Die Hard" in a high school with Haim as John McClane, Alan Thicke as Sgt. Powell, and Dick Van Patten as the government man. Brought to you by wildly prolific hack director Jim Wynorski, who has over a hundred directing credits, including some respectable trash, such as "Chopping Mall" and "Big Bad Mama II," but mostly less respectable trash (i.e. "The Witches of Breastwick" and "The Breastford Wives"). "Demolition High" is on the more respectable side since it has so many name actors, which besides Haim, Thicke, and Van Patten includes Gerrit Graham ("Used Cars" "Phantom of the Paradise") as the principal and familiar character actors George 'Buck' Flower ("Escape from New York" "They Live" "Maniac Cop") and Jeff Kober ("X-Files" "Tank Girl" "The First Power") as the lead terrorist. Dumb and unmemorable, but if you dug this film, there's a sequel "Demolition University" which I have not seen. Also, if Corey Feldman were on hand I would have added another 1/2 star. FUN FACT! "Demolition High" is referenced in Paul Thomas Anderson's "Magnolia" by a character who is trying to get a part in a movie with Alan Thicke and Corey Haim. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member This braindead Die Hard rip-off takes place in a high school, instead of a skyscraper, featuring a clearly 25 year old Corey Haim playing a high school student (everything that man touches turns to crap). Many of the characters are just too stupid to live, and I counted at least a half dozen major plot holes that had my friends and I screaming at characters on screen. Plenty of unnecessary explosions, tone-deaf dialogue, and wooden acting to go around. This film is great to heckle from the back row with friends. Robin Thicke's dad is in it too. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member very underrated indie classic movie. with Corey haim who comes through as a fearless teen. its die hard in a school and let me tell you this movie kicks ass and its tons of fun to watch I mean isn't that what a action movie is meant to be Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member really good movie a underated direct to video gem a die hard in a school plot with Corey haim as your rebel protagonist a town full of hidden currency's high school is invaded by thugs its up to Corey haim to stop them this was a fun engaging action movie Corey is a badass in the film which was a treat to see the die hard in a school idea is awesome and the cast do there jobs well I gotta give Jim this one a mostly director of softcore porno gave us a good fun action film sure it has some stupid illogical bits at the end but those can be overlooked in this underrated action treat r.I.p Corey haim Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member www.twitter.com/bmovienite another BMN! selection. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Solid b-movie entertainment featuring an interesting cast including Alan Thicke, Gerrit Graham and a host of Wynorski favourites. Terrorists set up shop at California high school with hostages and a stolen armed missile. Haim is a bit aged for this role; we can be thankful, however, that Feldman skipped class on this project.
